Iphone x slow to download new apps

Check out our FAQs for solutions to a wide range of topics. Upgraded to an iPhone X and it's impossible to get my offline files sync'd.

Started out and downloaded 1 song every three or four minutes so I removed the spotify app and removed all of my devices from the offline list in my account then reinstalled. The download then started to go pretty decent and downloaded songs pretty quick but then stalled out. Now no matter what I try the speed won't improve.

My download speed tests at over mbps on wifi so that's not the issue. I've changed wifi networks, I've changed my DNS servers and tried my proxy setiings on auto. I've enabled download over cellular and disabled Wifi with no change. This is pretty frustrating. Go to Solution. Help arrived. For me, this solution works and download all the songs instantly. Right now I'm trying out Apple Music. If spotify can't get it together I'll have to make the switch. This is insane. First they magically let my downloaded songs disapper and now the download velocity is about 1 song per 4 hours!!!!

Of course there is no person able to help other than the community who all have the same problem. I have no choice but to cancel my subscription with this band of amateurs. If it's a bug then its been the same one for 3 years. I dropped Spotify 3 years ago because of this very problem and went to Apple Music which is good. I only tried switching back because of a home speaker that streams Spotify through WIFI and now having this same stupid issue as before. I'm cancelling and trying another service.

As you I've tried every single tip on the web. At the end of the day the only thing that "works" for me is keeping the app open, no switching apps, nor using my phone for any other task. Restart your device Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then check to see if you can download or update apps. In these cases, you might get unavailability errors or an infinitely-spinning download icon that never seems to accomplish any progress. If this sounds like your symptom, try downloading another free app from the App Store and see if the same thing happens. If not, this could be your problem. The problem could be related specifically to your iTunes account.

Afterwards, try the download again and see if starts to download at the expected download speeds. Go to speedtest. There are also some cases where your wireless router could be having a heart attack and just needs a good reboot. In these scenarios, the router may produce slower than expected download speeds or the downloads may not progress at all. Power it off for a good 60 seconds and then power it back on and try the download again.

This is usually done by disconnecting the power cable, but some routers have reset buttons on them. Perhaps some necessary ports or App Store servers are blocked from access via your router settings. In many schools and institutions, the App Store is blocked to prevent bandwidth hogs from stealing all the download bandwidth with large app downloads. In this case, you would need to give them a call to find out.
